My father passed away...

...after many painful weeks, my beloved Papa left us 11 days ago.
I am still in mourning.
And I'm still full of regrets.

I guess I'll need time for myself.
40 days minimum.

Maybe cutting my hair.

I don't know.

I hope you guys will be around, when I'm back.

Be safe...

Tumblr Tuesday XX

I am not too much into Soccer/Fußball, but with the WC '14 in Brazil I've seen a lot of Buntings in Black, Red & Gold or in Blue, White & Red and such colour combinations in the past few weeks.
So how about non soccer related Buntings this week?
(Links are below the images, if you would like to Like them on Tumblr and for Crediting.)

How are you doing? Do you like Bunting?
I think, I am going to do some myself...

Facebook and Google Plus Covers

I have had some free time in between work and didn't know what to do with myself, so I tried my hand again at five Covers. Three for FB and two for Google+.

01. Books, Texture

02. Peony, Texture, Colours

03. Aum Mani Padme Hum, Texture, Blue

04. Quote, Texture

05. Desert, Orange

Now, I have just a few rules for you.
01. Do not redistribute them.
02. Do not claim as your work.
03. Give credit and/or link if asked.

You can put any Text you want in those Images, which do not have any Text already.
Also, if you take one or more of these, make a comment and tell me which one(s).
That way I will find out, what people like more.

P.S.: If you would be so extra kind and share this at any of your fave(s) social network(s), might give you lotsa mini karma-points.

P.P.S.: If you do not find what you like, tell me in the comments below and we will see next time.

Soy... № I

All my life I have been struggling with my ancestry. Being of multi-racial extraction can be quite exhausting in day to day life.
What were our parents thinking? -I guess they weren't even trying to, in the heat of the moment... ;)

With the start of this Year, I have been trying to get more into it, but it's hard to know where to start.
Both of my parents cultures have been corrupted by foreign religions & customes over the past millenia.

And in the the past years I've only been able to unwrap tiny parts of my lineage... like an old piece of folded paper which has been washed by mistake, and is falling apart with every square centimetre you are trying to unfold it.

Tengri(i)sm is one of the topics I think a lot about...
Important Symbols like the Sun, Crescent & Star.
Numbers like the 7 & 40.

Which, by the way, are still in use today. Even with many Turkic countries being Islam dominated, a Semitic religion*.
Turks ar not Arabs as many people like to think.
Turkic≠Semitic², or better, Altais≠Semites².

I am thinking of writing more installments, as I go through these thoughts of mine.

*= Note, that I am not an Anti-Semite. A label, which is used too loosely these Days.
²= With Semitic/Semites I mean Arabians, Hebrews etc...

Tumblr Tuesday XIX

Hmhmm... Summer has fully arrived, the first half of the Year has passed? -It must be 1'st of July.
Hopefully it's warmer today than in the past Days.
(Links are below the images, should you fancy to Like them on Tumblr and for Crediting.)

So, half-time... how has your Year been so far?
What makes a Summer right for you?
Anything you are planing for the second half of the Year? -I've been thinking of going back to school after all these years.

Feature 001

As a hobby stock-artist I've had the pleasure for the past few years of seeing people create all kind of Art with the help of my free resources, uploaded on my DeviantArt Stock Account.
As of today, I would like to feature one of these works every now and then.
Kind of sporadic... whenever I feel like it. ;)

 Hair. by Vildensky

This deviation from a Deviant Artist has been created and submitted a few years ago, but it's still one of my favourites. It shows a digital illustration with a slight photomanipulation of the background via cardboard texture (*coughs* which itself was made by yours truly *coughs*).

In no way do I claim or imply to be the creator of the art displayed above.
It only has partially pieces of my free 2D & 3D downloadable stocks/resources in it.

Tumblr Tuesday XVIII

Lately I've been inspired to have some plants in my bedroom, bathroom and/or living room.
But with my brown thumb that's always been a problem, still these images are so worth a thought or two! :) Maybe I'll find a few low maintenance plants, someday...
(Links are below the images, should you fancy to Like them on Tumblr and for Crediting.)

What are your thoughts on plants at home? -Yayz or a total No-Go?
Any suggestions on easy to handle yet beautiful plants? -I would love to know.
And what about your "Thumb"... is it green or rather brown?

For more plants and such, search in the tags... Plants

On Pinterest...

Like all the other fellow Lemmings out there on the interwebz I got myself a Pinterest account, when it was still new.
To tell the truth, I gave myself some time before I got one, 'cause I just didn't get the hype around it at the time, after all it was just another variation of "We Heart It", which I had already been a part of for some time prior to Pinterest even having been founded.

Well, anyway... I didn't touch my Account for some time after getting it.
However in 2012 I started to like a few pins here and added one myself there, but still didn't like it that much.
This year though, I have been using it more frequently for private as well as other reasons, and it also has gotten more 'entertaining' in its way. I especially like combining it with other Accounts of mine, such as Tumblr and Youtube.

DIY Ideas

Wonderful images, aren't they? :)
Do you have a Pinterest Account? What do you use it for?
Mine can be found here... -> Nokta Pins!

Nokta reads 05/2014...

Oh wow, almost half of the year gone, hm?
I have been reading my way through my annual reading List for 2014.
With a few change here & there.

Colorado Kid (The Colorado Kid) - Stephen King
This Book was not one of his remarkable works.
I was quite disappointed of a book, of which I thought had all the right requirements for one of the better pulp/mystery fictions.
And while it wasn't that bad, I felt let down by King.

Auch du kannst meditieren: Schritt für Schritt zu Klarheit, Gelassenheit und innerer Stärke (The Brightened Mind: A Simple Guide to Buddhist Meditation) - Ajahn Sumano Bhikkhu
I still didn't get what I wanted, but when compared... this book on meditation was much better, than the last one from April.
One thing I didn't like, was the way he was trying to sell this book, to rich young mothers, yuppies and/or upper society slackers and the like.
It felt a bit like at one point... take a sip of this hip Decaf double chocolate chip Frappuccino with a spritz of Vanilla Syrup, while reading my book on your newest, over-priced iTelPhone in that useless neon-pink Case... wearing that new Lululimon yoga outfit, hand made by children in the 3'rd World 'cause it's hip... wait, what do you mean that Mermaid-coffee isn't Organic?
You will never be Zen!!!

Englisch im Job: TaschenGuide - Gertrud Goudswaard & Sander Schroevers
I am glad I didn't pay for this one, there weren't a lot of new things in it.
Seems like my Business English is quite good.

(Unfortunately no book photographs, again all were read through my phone...)

I wish everyone a happy & sunny Weekend. What are you going to do, btw?
Here, where I live, we will have a long Weekend. So maybe we will read from each other on my free Monday... *yayz*

Tumblr Tuesday XVII

I don't know about you but I have a love for Books since my Parents (foremost of all my Father) put one in my Hand when I was very, very small.
Over the Years it has become a little Obsession of mine. And you won't find me without a Book near me of one kind or another.
So imagine my shock and displeasure, when I found no Tuesday in this Series featuring Books. ಠ_ಠ
(Links are below the images, should you fancy to Like them on Tumblr and for Crediting of course.)

So many Books, so little Time.
- Frank Zappa
I hope you had a good Start into the new Week & June... and good Weather, of course.
Happy reading to you... ;)

P.S.: And no matter what, always heed the following Advice...

Tumblr Tuesday XVI

I had a very hard day with almost no time for anything besides work, work, work and it was so hot, 34°Celsius... but one thing I was quite aware of today, that I was so hungry but barely ate and that there was a lot of Orange around me today, clothes, food (not for me) and even in the hair of a Punk... :)
(Links are below the images, should you fancy to Like them on Tumblr and for Crediting.)

Organic hot Pepper... *hmmm* (Would make some great Ayvar)

Are you hungry yet? Was it hot today, where you live?
I hope you had a great day & enjoyed yourselves!
I'm off to sleep, dreaming of some Oranges...

Birds, Rice and feeding in general

We've been feeding Great Tits, Eurasian Blue Tits, European Greenfinch & a Common wood pigeon 'Lady'.
And seeing how the Great Tits now bring their children with them to our balcony, a little bit early this year because of the warm winter, to feed them directly is very rewarding. I mean, they trust us! :)

But it made me remember the children of the School Library.
Some of the children at the school can't afford lunch money and only eat small homemade slices of bread with butter.

And that made me think of the way some people diet on their lunch break to fit into their new, over-priced outfit while browsing the web with their smart-phones or their computers at work for this and that... useless things.

Don't get me wrong... buy that new outfit, slim down a bit if you want. But how about you play a game that might educate you while it feeds people.

Rice up against hunger
I do believe, I have posted/talked about this website a few time in different places (Twitter, FB, Real Life, Kısmet & Karma Page, etc...), but would like to mention it again.
Click on the banner above and it will take you there.
You can play just like that... or you can even sign up, then play and look up the amount of grains you have won to feed people.
Whatever you do, just play a minute or two every day or other, you might make a change.

So, it's time for me to change the water for the Birds...
I wish you a great Bergfest(Hump Day)... ;)

Nokta reads 04/2014...

More than a 3'rd of the Year gone and I didn't even get to really do what I wanted this year. Not work-wise... that's all fine, but real life has been really lacking aside from my reading list. :)
But that's okay I guess.

Zwischen Nacht und dunkel (Full Dark, No Stars) - Stephen King
I have always preferred King's short Fictions (Short Stories, Novelettes, Novellas).
This Book is a collection of 4 novellas. The US-american edition from 2011 has a 5'th short story called "Undert the Weather", which unfortunately isn't featured in the German editions.
A farmer writes his confession, but in the end it's up to you if he tells the truth or is just nutters.
Nice one if a bit too drawn-out. Here we encounter King's love-hate relationship with Rats being one of the Antagonists.
-Großer Fahrer (Big Driver)
A female author takes a short cute back home with her car... which ends quite unexpectedly.
I loved this one!
-Faire Verlängerung (Fair Extension)
A short story of how a pact with the Devil can end with a happy end for the Contractee.
Not bad, I laughed a few good laughs.
-Eine gute Ehe (A Good Marriage)
A woman finds out about a 'Hobby' of her Husband of over 25 years, by accident. And she's not amused.
This was very interesting to read. And the end was quite pleasing.
All in all I was very happy with this Book. I was reading it whenever I had the tiniest amount of free time.

Die 7-Minuten-Buddha-Meditation: Die einfache burmesische Technik für den Alltag [The 7 Minute Buddha Meditation: The simple burmese Technic for everyday life] - Anton Pichler
I don't like to talk bad about dead people, which the Author is, may he Rest in Peace.
BUT, this Book was a major let down in many aspects.
While it was written in an easy & understandable way, there were no real guidelines. And exactly 75% of it were Buddha pictures & big written Mantras like "Strength", "Happiness" and such, which I didn't really need...
The Chapters, if you can call them that, also felt like they had been arranged haphazardly.
I would not recommend it.

I have kind of become addicted to my smart-phone as a reading medium.
Our public library has been online for over 7 months, which is a time-saver for me since I won't have to go there, to borrow the real books.

What about you, do you read books via smart-phone, e-reader or a computer?
Is it a time saver in your opinion?

Have a lovely weekend and keep reading... xo

Tumblr Tuesday XV

I was very, very busy in the past few days and it seems like there is no end... I'm surrounded by possibly the most neediest people in the World these days. So I had no time of my own. (Make some 'Aww' noises for me now, plz.) So today I want to enjoy some inspiring images with Nature & Art in them, in more than one way... ;)
(Links are below the images, should you fancy to Like them on Tumblr and for Crediting of course.)

I hope the coming weeks will be kinder to me... ;)
What do you do, to make yourself forget your busy work-day at the end of the day.
Relaxing surrounded by Nature or with some Artsy stuff?

(As always Links are below the images, should you fancy to Like them on Tumblr and for Crediting of course.)

Anyone Hungry after all these yummy images!? ;)
And how about your Internet Connection... how addicted to it, or rather, how dependent are you on it.
Or do you just lie back & do something else?
